We received our proofs for all three books. The full color, the sketch cover, and the black and white raw editions!
And MAN! What a wild thing to have in your hands. The book looks absolutely astounding!! Good weight, the colors pop, and a great texture to the touch.
We had a couple of edits to make, such as changing a page order to fit a spread we had that was split up in the proof.
The new orders have been sent, and we are waiting for the delivery! Then it’s a mailing party!!

I’m sitting at my laptop thinking of how I’m going to start this message, and I’m at a loss for words. This feels like the most important message I have ever delivered in my entire life. I found friends that had the same goal as I did, and together we chased a dream, a dream that would challenge us in every single aspect of our lives. A dream to create something that would be ours, something that we could love and be proud of. Something that not only inspires us as we write and draw, but something that others can experience and enjoy. This dream of ours, is now a reality, thanks to each of you. The words “backer” or “supporter” doesn’t give the justice deserved by you all. Pillars, would be apt. Our futures in creating comics will stand on the platform you all have provided for us.
Danny, Armando, and myself all found our way together as if orchestrated by fate. Three native Waco kids, fans of stories, art, and above all, comic books, with the desire to meld our fantasies with ink to paper to create a moment, a livable image given breathe through illustration and writing. And when we found each other, the pieces were finally in place; and the real work began.
Despite many setbacks, your support was unwavering. We took a year to get this book finished and printed. Our very first one. And we are proud of what we have made, but we want to assure you that we have learned greatly from this year’s efforts. Our next release will be improved with the teachings and suggestions from our maiden voyage as a publishing company.
We truly have worked vigorously and have pushed ourselves to heights we have never reached before as creators. As I look at the culmination of our effort with a smile, I’m filled with excitement and wonder for the future. There is a world before Plus Universe Alpha, and a world after Plus Universe Alpha.
Thank you, from the entire team. We hope you enjoy our book.

I’M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY TELL YOU THE BOOKS HAVE BEEN SENT TO PRINT!!!
We are now in the waiting game for the physical proofs to get here, and in the mean time we will get the pdf distributed to all of you within this next week!

Hry guys,
We know it has been a minute or tow since you last heard from us. We had a snag with the colorist, then hit a few stumbling blocks in trying to find a new one. We finally hit pay dirt and now we are moving along. We are done with the internal edits and putting the book together to send to the printer as wespeak. We really do appreciate you and all of the patience you have shown us. We promise next time to be better prepared for the pitfalls that show up.

Thank you so much for your patience. A LOT has happened in the last few months.
I’ll just rip the bandaid off.
Unfortunately, due to contractual agreements, Paris was not able to complete the colors for +Universe Alpha. It was a decision he didn’t make lightly, but this is the job and we completely understand. He’s a professional colorist and was hired by Marvel to work on Spider-Man and IDW to work on TMNT. We parted ways on still good terms and hopefully might get to work more with him down the road somewhere.
This was a growing moment for us at Plus Waco Comics. We scrambled. Paris didn’t leave us high and dry, he was able to flat (pre-color) all of the pages and left us with a great and accessible workflow for any other colorist we might bring on board.
Luckily, we were able to find the artist for the job!
I (Joey) am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I believe we were meant to find Werner!
Now, yes we were absolutely devastated to learn that Paris wasn’t able to complete the book. To be completely honest, I’m totally OK with losing a colorist to the likes of Spider-Man and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!
While we hope to work with Paris again in the future, we were brought to the attention of a workhorse that’s been returning work fast and furious!
I’d like to introduce everyone to Werner Sanchez! Werner has worked for Heavy Metal Comics as well as several indie publishers.
Werner has quickly become an integral piece of the +Waco Comics team and we will be proudly working with him in future installments of the +Universe!
We are shooting for a SEPTEMBER release date for ALL rewards as Werner is in the home stretch of finishing the last batch of pages to color. Once that is all done, we’ll be off to the printers!
Everyone will get the color PDF sent the day we have that file ready, so you won’t have to wait to read!
I want to thank everyone for your trust and patience. Truly. Thank you. We are so proud of what we have made!
